My Fall Home Tour 2023

Happy Fall Y'all!

I've got our home decorated for the fall season....so today I'm sharing My Fall Home Tour 2023....and here's how everything is looking right now ....

We'll begin the tour in the sitting room....

I just placed the leaves, pinecone and pumpkin picks, and thrifted grapevine pumpkins onto the fireplace mantle....

Here's another use for a standard pillow sham...draped over my footstool... I tied a piece of jute string around the edge to hold it in place....it works and it's matching better now, with what I have going on in here at the moment....

The fruit motif needlepoint pillow was a thrift shop find that I found back in the summertime...

I was happy to finish the estate sale find, unfinished embroidery piece that I found last summer....I'll be using it now through the winter season....

Now it's onto the living room....

The side table in my living room is filled with special memories of a fall trip  we took back in October 2021, we went on the Blueridge Parkway and through the mountains of North Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. We made some great memories there and love the mountains, the beautiful rocky creeks... that seemed to be around every corner. We loved the way the little towns we visited along the way on our 13 day trip were all dressed up for fall... with pumpkins and scarecrows. We don't get much fall in our area, so it was such a joy and treat to experience the beauty of a real fall. I must confess, that I have wanted to move to a four seasons area, since seeing it! My memory table is my favorite part of my fall home decor this year!

When decorating, if you ever find yourself a little bit stumped on how to display some of your home decor,  just add in some photos of precious memories and I'm sure it will all come together.....

Now, it's on to the the kitchen and dining areas.....

And lastly, here's a few photos of the doll house, in all it's mini cuteness...with some whimsical Halloween and Fall additions, for this time of year.....

I made the tiny white pumpkin on the coffee table, but still need to paint the stem brown and the leaves green...

I  wanted to order some mini red apples, but when I was ready to order them, I found that they were out of stock....maybe I'll get some next year. Don't this mini barrel remind you of the elementary school fall carnivals days, from way back in the day....with the cake walk games and bobbing for apples games, to win prizes from tickets?! It does take me back in time....does it you?

The rose tea set is a new addition to the doll house table this year....the little orange pumpkin is one I made a couple of years ago from clay.....

Fresh picked sunflowers at the foot of the bed, seem fitting for this time of year... Now I just need to go find a vase to put them in.

Well, I guess this concludes my fall home tour today. I hope you were inspired by being here on my home diary blog. If you haven't started decorating yet, I hope it gives you a few decorating ideas for your home too.

Thanks for visiting with me!

Until next time...

September Sunflowers for Late Summer

In the mornings, there's a little bit of a change in the air.... in our area. I have been eager to see the calendar change over to September. It's been so hot,  I'm so excited for the upcoming fall season and all that it brings...how about you?! I have been decorating for fall, and I am currently in the process of getting photos for an upcoming fall home tour post, too. I have so much to show you, in my upcoming blog post and video, which I'll be posting soon!

But today I want to show you how I changed up my flower arrangement that is in my silver teapot by just adding in some sunflowers. I'm a little behind on posting this, but I still wanted to share it and put it here in the photos of my home diary.....

This flower arrangement has been slowly evolving... since the Fourth of July, the blue hydrangeas and red geraniums were replaced with creamy white flowers after the 4th, and then at the end of August I found these sunflowers to add in, from Walmart ($3.98 for a bundle of 5).

For September, I put some sunflower pillow covers on the pillows that are on my sofa, in the living room too, and I changed out my throw blanket on the back of the sofa, with a vintage inspired patchwork quilted throw.... that I found new, a few years ago on ebay. I love looking at the different patterns on it... it really does bring in a lot of pretty colors for late summer.  I feel like you just can't go wrong with a patchwork quilt.

The sunflower pillow covers will be moving to my back porch rocking chairs when I bring out my pumpkin pillow covers for the living room for fall, very soon. I actually bought them for the back porch, but loved them so much, that I wanted to leave them inside for a little while to enjoy...especially after finding the faux sunflowers at Walmart.  I actually was buying them to use out on the porch too, ha!  It's funny that one thing leads to another when decorating...a girl can change her mind though, right?

Are you as ready for fall as I am?  Have you started any decorating yet?

Until next time...

Stay creative and have a beautiful day!
