What's Blooming End Of May 2022

We had a steady rain this afternoon...and the rain had stopped this evening....it felt so nice outside... so I took a few photos of what's blooming.....
Gladiolus in Red...
The Morning Glories have grown a bunch, but I'm still watching for blooms...
Lantanas...
Impatience...
The Blue Hydrangeas have begun blooming too...
The wild blackberries in the woods are ripening...we're waiting for these red ones to turn deep purple...we've picked a few ripe ones this week...

That's all for now....

Until next time....enjoy the beauty that's around you,  and stay creative!

Junkin' Finds....A Tiny Teapot, a Sweet Old Book, Copper Bunny, and an Old Quilt...

I've added a few junkin' finds to my sitting room...here they are...
The tiny green transferware teapot is so cute!

And I love the spine on this old book, A Child's Garden of Verses

Bunnies are a fun addition for spring and summertime...
I've had the old quilt for some time and thought it would be pretty on the ladder back chair in our sitting room...the bright colors will be cheerful for summer and I love to look at all the different scraps of fabric.

Until next time....stay creative!

Outdoor Planter Pots Refresh (Before and After)

This week, I managed to paint a few of our outdoor planter pots and decoupaged a couple with some napkins and mod podge that I already had on hand too....here's pictures of how it all turned out and what colors of acrylic paints I used. I sealed the paints with Waverly wax and sealer....

I wanted these planters to have an aged appearance, so they would look like they've been in the garden a while.... like an old cottage garden, two colors of paint helped me achieve that, I think. For just the cost of the paints, (some I did already had on hand), and a little bit of time...our backyard planters  got a little refresh. It always amazes me how paint can transform something and make it look pretty again!

What's Out In The Yard Mid-May 2022

It's Mid-May, I wonder what's up around the yard....I had to take a peek on my morning walk about...
Behind my little sitting area with the garden bench... I found the (native to this land), tree back there, in full bloom with these pretty white flowers....
Growing in our sandy soil, I found these trailing little white flowers blooming....these would probably be called weeds, I'm sure...but I see them as God's beautiful creation....they grow wild and free....
I found that the little white flowers on the wild blackberry plants have had their days in the sun, and have mostly withered away....so that the blackberries can now emerge and have their day in the sun...
They are green for now, but will be ready to pick before we know it....
Our frilly leaf fern indoors has had a growth spur...and seems to somehow know it's the season to grow....
Until next time....have a beautiful day and stay creative!

Adding A Few Decor Items May 2022

I've added a few more decor items to my home this May, for late spring early summer decor....some were birthday gifts, and they are the perfect little accents for a cottage garden theme and the beautiful warm weather season! I took a few pictures....

Until next time....celebrate everyday, in some small way... this day is a gift.
And stay creative!

Sitting Room May 2022

Our sitting room got a change up after Easter. I was ready for a cottage garden themed look for the rest of spring and summer.

The bunnies in the picture remind me of the sweetness of the bunnies that visit our yard...just outside the sitting room window.
I hope you are enjoying some pretty sunshine filled days....sweet surprises in your garden and yard, and are finding lots of natural beauty in this warm weather season!

Until next time...stay creative!

My Herbs Have Dried 2022

Today, I found that the herbs I'd hung to dry recently have fully dried, so I crumbled them and got them in containers....I used vintage wallpaper scraps for the tops of the container lids... for a pretty touch. Then labeled each one with a sharpie marker so I'd know which was which.

Now I'm off to cut some more to hang so they can dry. I think I'll be sampling some spearmint tea in a little while, with some of the fresh spearmint leaves. Can hardly wait for that!

Until next time...do what brings your heart joy, have a beautiful day and stay creative!
