When the summer weather gets as hot as it is in my area, I get out some crafts...
Here's what I've been crafting this summer...
Clay apples for my fall doll house....aren't these adorable!
I had a hard time finding apples for an affordable price for my doll house last fall, so I told myself I'd make some myself when I got the chance. So I have and here's how I made these....
I made these with polymer clay that was already colored. So I used the apple green, the red and the brown. I found this kit around Christmastime at Ollie's Good Stuff Cheap, Discount Store....
The kit is for making mini desserts, but I figured I could use the clay to make other things, like these apples for the doll house....
I also made some doll house curtains, back in the wintertime...I didn't get the chance to make a post about them, so I thought now would be the time to show them.
I used things I already had on hand below to make these curtains...hot glue, wooden skewers cut to the size of the windows, fabric, crochet lace, string to tie back the curtains, and foam double sided mounting tape to hang the curtains....
Here's the backside of the curtains...
These weren't too hard to make and I think they look cute...at least I'll have a less likely chance of getting a "peeping tom" now, ya know?!
Here's one more craft I finished over the winter season that I didn't show in a post....it's another hand embroidered necklace I made from a kit...I love how it turned out.
I'm looking forward to making some other crafts this summer season, did I tell you that we hit 100 degrees here in our area recently? If my flowers outside weren't looking so pretty, I'd be totally bummed out, lol. And, If I'm being honest, I so want to move right now too, lol! (I say this every summer).
Even though it's super hot here, Summertime is all about finding ways to have a little extra fun. I'm gonna be trying to do that, no matter what the weather is doing at the moment. For me, summertime is all about evenings in my secret garden checking on how things are coming along, it's wearing flip flops, cute sandals and lightweight pretty summer dresses (to stay cool), it's eating slices of watermelon and fresh peaches, it's sipping cold iced sweet tea with lemon on the back porch rocking chairs, at dusk, (and making crafts when it's too hot to do anything else). Summer is a beautiful season, no matter what the temperature gauge reads...I'm gonna embrace it with joy and and a grateful heart. I hope you are finding fun ways to stay cool this summer!
Until next time...
Stay Creative and have a beautiful day!
