Summer Yard Photos 2021

Today I'm sharing some photos of our porches that my husband and I redid this spring/summer 2021. He did most of the work, but I helped and we stain them together. It was worth the effort, as they were around twenty years old, in bad shape and really needed our attention. I wish I had the before pictures to share, I can't get to them right now, but maybe I can add them later on.  I've added a photo of my little shaded sitting area that's out by our storage building under the oak tree....for you to see as well, as time goes on I will hopefully share more of that space.....I grow a few plants and herbs out there in pots and this shady spot is a quiet place for me to sit and listen to the birds and watch the birds and squirrels play and come to eat at the feeder. It's become my little peaceful retreat out in my back yard.

For our porch projects, the stain we used is from Lowes, it's Valspar One-Coat Exterior Stain and Sealer Semi-Transparent, the color is Pinecone Brown, the covered porch ceiling is painted in Valspar Semi-gloss Duramax Exterior Paint + Primer, the color is Snow Mountain (HGSW1367), it's a pretty sky blue or haint blue that's seen on most old southern covered porches. The poles on the covered porch were previously painted white paint, and were very warn and peeling... so we lightly sanded them, left them white and used Valspar One-Coat Exterior Stain+Sealer in Solid, we used the color Ultra White 7006-24.

Until next time...stay creative and have a beautiful day!

Decorating With Tiny Old Bottles....My First Post....

Hello, welcome to this website, I've started this blog "Christie's Mobile Home Diary" as a place to keep and document my home decorating and the changes I make from season to season. Sometimes I forget how I did things from season to season, and need some inspiration. Looking back on the posts should be helpful for me. I hope the home diary can inspire those that may visit here as well.

Now...I'll get on with my first post....

Today, I'm sharing how I used some old bottles in my home decor. And, with crispness in the air, I'm saying my official farewell to summer...with a cutting of some of my  (grown from seed), zinnia flowers.
Until next time...stay creative and have a beautiful day!
