October ushered in a little cooler temperatures at night and in the mornings.... so I did my fall decorating and snapped some photos too. Here's how things are looking in the sitting room this year....
These handmade wooden flowers were some we picked up on a vacation to Tennessee. They came from The Arts and Crafts Community in Gatlinburg. They were made by a 98 year old man who used a knife and tiny pieces of wood to widdlemake them into these little flowers....truly amazing. I placed them in the old amber bottle with faded leaves and a few feathers...
Most everything I decorated with were things I already had...mostly found at yard sales, antique malls, thrift stores or dollar stores. Some of the throw pillow covers were amazon finds, and the "H" embroidered pillow was one I made from a purchased pillow...I hand embroidered the "H" onto a found battenberg lace doily and stitched it onto the front of the pillow.
It really doesn't have to cost a lot of money to make a home feel cozy and warm ... it only takes filling it with things that you love and a little creativity....which to me makes decorating so much fun!
I hope October brought you some crisp cool air and fresh inspiration for a new season!
