Winter January Decorating- Living Room and Kitchen 2025

To decorate for winter this year I kept things simple and used mostly things that I already had. Our living room, kitchen and dining room are open concept and really are one long space, so I try to keep the spaces looking similar to one another, since I am able to see everything from whichever area I'm in.

Here's how everything is looking right now....

Starting with the dining area....

The vintage camelia pitcher is a thrift find from years back, I just filled it with some pinecone picks and faux boxwood...

I did get a set of four new woodland themed throw pillow covers for winter this year, and the set included bunnies, owls, deer, and fox (I didn't use the fox ones yet this year)....I already had the brown check pillow covers for several years...

The vintage kitty cat image is one I cut out from a cat image book that I had picked up years ago at an indoor flea market...I've cut several images from the book to frame already, and I don't mind cutting from it, since the cover of it is in rough shape, and has seen better days...

The squirrel and cardinal miniature is from Walmart this year....I got it on clearance after Christmas for half off of $2.28....it's hard for me to resist anything mini sized...it's so cute isn't it?!

The deer print on wood is one I picked up a couple of years ago also while thrifting, I got it for half off of $1.99, it was an after Christmas sale....this is the first year I've used it....

I displayed jars that hold my dried flowers that I had grown in my garden last summer, along with some of my cook books and some squirrel salt and pepper shakers....

Now it's onto the living room...the sofa got a change of pillow covers and a coordinating winter throw blanket....and a few other little winter touches here and there....

In January I always like to add in an antique "Happy New Year" postcard...I like adding in tiny clocks to my decor this time of year too, in any form... ephemera included,...timepieces with the hands of time are reminders of how fleeting it is and how precious it is... I'm thankful for another year, and I am going to do my best this new year not to take the time I have been given for granted. I love the start of a new year...it holds so many hopes, dreams, and possibilities, doesn't it?

The cat garden statue is not new, but I think I'll still add in some mini pinecones to the birds nest below, for winter...

The side table that is beside the loveseat gets a little change out of decor for the season, I kept it simple....the glass lantern and candle says wintertime to me....

I hope that you are keeping warm and enjoying this cozy new season.... and finding some quiet time in your days... joy and peace in your heart.

"The joy of the Lord is your strength"
-Nehemiah 8:10

Winter January Decor In The Sitting Room 2025

Last week, the sitting room slowly evolved from Christmas decor to Winter decor. The decorating usually starts around here with choosing throw pillows and throw blankets, and goes on from there using those colors as inspiration for the rest of the room....Here's how everything is looking this winter 2024....

I used things I already have....

George was my big helper and so was Emma... Decisions, decisions...they were at my side most of the time, snooping around (and helping), they really are curious when I make changes.  Mama was shaking things up around here last week, putting Christmas decor away, and Emma will tell you right quick that they were ready for a nap, when we were all done! lol!

I've got the living room and kitchen also decorated for winter as well and I will be sharing a post on those two spaces soon, (I just need to get some photos).

Until next time...
Stay creative and have a beautiful day!
